Peet's Coffee & Tea

We've done it again. An intoxicating coffee with essence of spice and unforgettable flavors of mocca and wine-dark berry. Three special Ethiopian lots are featured in this year’s blend.

Known as the birthplace of coffee, Ethiopia produces some of the finest coffees in the world and continues to produce them much in the same way it did centuries ago: virtually untarnished by modern agricultural methods and grown organically by small holder growers in outlying villages. The altitude, soil and climate are ideal for producing outstanding coffees that balance body, acidity and floral aromatics.

One Ethiopia lot in particular is the result of a three year quest by one grower to create a coffee – potent, winy, and pungently aromatic – reminiscent of the fruits (or “coffees”) of his grandfather’s generation. In perfecting his methods of production and by taking meticulous care at every step with his coffee, he ultimately created one of the most extraordinary coffees to ever cross our cupping table. Our customers will be the first to enjoy this particular lot in African Blend, as we are the first to import this coffee into the United States.
