Superbly aromatic, well-balanced with medium body, lively acidity, overtones of spice and chocolate.

Guatemala produces our favorite Latin American coffee. It is a genuine Antigua from the area around the picturesque former capital of the country, Guatemala's premier coffee-growing region. The high altitude (5,000 to 6,000 feet) and the rich soil from the area's many volcanoes create conditions that are ideal for the production of top-quality coffee. The temperate climate, with sunny days and cool nights, allows the coffee to mature slowly, which seems to concentrate the flavors. The result is a cup with lively acidity and overtones of spice and chocolate.

Peet's Guatemala is an excellent coffee on its own. Its many flavor components are well-balanced and complementary. These qualities also make it a great blending coffee, and a number of our blends have Guatemala coffee as an ingredient.
